Record the battery requirement separately.
Specify your required battery condition and ask how it will be evidenced for the proposed devices. Separate the buyer's requested threshold from the supplier's confirmed offer. A cosmetic grade should not be used as a substitute for a battery specification.
Apple's pre-owned iPhone guide explains how to view maximum capacity and battery messages. Menu names and the information available depend on the device and software. Review the relevant messages alongside the displayed percentage. Apple inspection guide ↗
For a bulk request, ask whether the offered battery information is available per device or only for a sample, and when it was recorded. Any agreed replacement or exception belongs in the written offer.
Understand what a parts-history message tells you.
On supported iPhones, Parts and Service History appears in Settings → General → About. Apple documents labels including Genuine, Used, Unknown and Unverified; the available components and messages depend on the model and software. An Unknown label can have several causes and should not automatically be treated as proof of a counterfeit part. Apple parts-history explanation ↗
Request a description of any disclosed replacement, warning or unfinished repair relevant to the proposed batch. Agree whether your resale channel accepts it. Do not infer a complete inspection history solely from the absence of a message.
Activation Lock and network restrictions are different checks.
| Check | Buying question |
|---|---|
| Activation Lock | Can the device be activated without a previous owner's credentials? Apple advises against buying an Activation-Locked iPhone. |
| Network restrictions | Can it be used with the intended operator? Apple's guide explains the “No SIM restrictions” status under the network lock setting. |
| Regional compatibility | Does the offered model's SIM/eSIM and regional specification fit your destination and planned network? |
Request separate answers for each relevant check. An “unlocked” description should state which restriction was checked. Apple inspection guide ↗
Ask for evidence that matches the buying decision.
A practical request describes your required condition, asks what can be confirmed and identifies any exceptions you need to review. Establish whether evidence relates to the proposed devices, a sample or a general product description.
- State the model, storage and intended destination.
- Specify the battery information you need.
- Ask for disclosure of relevant replaced parts and warning messages.
- Request separate confirmation of activation and network restrictions.
- Agree how discrepancies will be documented under the written order terms.
